Beautiful Carl Shurz Park on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Be sure to check out the walking, running and cycling path along the East River at the top of the stairs. Very pretty little park with a dog run, pretty views of river, lots of benches, grassy areas, flowers, basketball courts and a playground. Directions: Short walk from the Q train, Lexington Ave subway 4,5,6 trains at 86th Street or take 86th Street crosstown bus.
Small plastic container in a zip lock bag. bring a pen to log your visit. This cache contains only a log book, but will fit a travel bug and some very tiny items. ***It is not in any of the landscaped gardens!*** The difficulty is mostly in being stealth in this frequently visited park. Be sure to check out the view of the East River and nearby Gracie Mansion and take a stroll along the River promenade or bring a picnic and enjoy sitting on the grass or one of the many benches.
