Geocache Description:

Located at the Sarampus Falls picnic area, Alder Stream Township, on Route 27 north of Eustis.

This is a beautiful spot to stop for a break. Sarampus Falls doesn't have a very long drop but it's a pretty waterfall. You can fly fish or swim in the pool below. There are picnic tables and grills, an outhouse and interpretive signs about the old logging days. The north branch of the Dead River flows through here on its way from Chain of Ponds, through Flagstaff Lake and on to the Kennebec River and the sea. Benedict Arnold used this river as his route to Quebec City during the Revolutionary War. This is a micro but there are four regular size caches just above here for you to find. Enjoy!
