Geocache Description:

Tallinn’s Linnahall is a building in Tallinn, that has a hall with 6000 seats, a skating hall, cafeterias and other rooms. The architectes are R. Karp and R. Altmäe. Linnahall was built for the Summer Olympic Games in 1980 (in Moscow). The building won the Interarh-83 Grand Prix’ and deserved the gold medal of the president of the International Union of Architectes in 1984. Linnahall is the only public building built on the seaside during the Soviet Occupetion in Estonia, therefore it is an important cultural building. But since Linnahall was built to an advantageous location, the city administration has tried to dismantle it several times.
