InJasper National Park, at a view point just off the Maligne Lake Road. There are bear-proof garbage containers in this area, and 500 meters up the road (and across the river) you will find picnic tables, garbage cans and toilet facilities.
This cache is at one of our favourite view points where we can see east up the Maligne River, up and down the Athabasca River, and west along the Miette River. If you look around you will see a number of Douglas fir trees (they are the largest of the conifers and can withstand fire). This latitude is the farthest north that they grow. There is no room for a pencil so bring your own. Please rehide the cache as well as you can.
In accordance with National Park geocaching guidelines, no trading items or anything that would be attractive to wildlife are to be left in this cache. This includes travel bugs and coins. The cache was pre-approved by Parks Canada on October 30, 2007.
