Cette balade à pour but de vous montrer une île aux nombreuses
variétés de végétation méditerranéenne, et de vous faire profiter
d’une belle vue sur la mer et les vagues. Le spectacle est
nettement plus impressionnant par jour de vent (bien qu’il y
ai toujours du vent à cet endroit). Cette île est populaire, donc
évitez le week end pour ne pas être envahis de monde.<
Pensez à vous munir d’une calculette.
Garez vous au parking public « la citadelle ». Il est gratuit et
comporte 130 places.
A la sortie du parking prenez la rue à droite jusqu’au rond
point. Là vous longerez le port vers la gauche. Suivez ainsi le
littoral.
Vous pourrez apercevoir par moment des barques
provençales.
Près d’un arrêt de bus au niveau du port du Brusc, une série
de ces bateaux sera amarrée.
Notez les immatriculations du « Cormoran », « clairdelune », «
Noel-gerard » et « garounet ».
Un seul suffit, la multiplicité étant là pour le cas où ils
devaient partir en mer. Notez le nom du bateau avec son
matricule.
Notez en prenant les 2 premiers chiffres : exemple : TL392531 =>

Vous obtenez T.
Continuer votre promenade au bord de l’eau. Sur votre
droite vous apercevez l’île des Embiez (la plus grande) et
l’île du Grand Gaou (votre destination).
Au bout, traversez le pont, vous êtes sur le petit Gaou. A la
pointe vous pourrez admirer une magnifique vue sur la mer et la
côte. En cas de vent des vagues impressionnantes se brisent sur les
rochers. Ce sont des schistes de l’époque primaire, nervurés
de quartz blanc. Sur la côte exposée du petit et grand Gaou, vous
pourrez voir le travail d’altération du sel et de la mer sur
le schiste.
Passez ensuite le pont pour le Grand Gaou. Ouverture de 8h à
20h. L’île et la lagune sont protégées, ne pas cueillir de
fleurs ;)
Trouvez le panneau d’explication écologique dans la zone
après le pont.
Comptez le nombre d’écosystème végétal existant sur
l’île = A
Et le nombre d’espèces végétales aquatiques de la lagune =

Passez devant l’accueil (WC public) et longez la côte par
la droite.
Rendez vous au WP1. Tous les waypoints
marquent une zone où se situe un petit poteau portant le nom
d’une espèce végétale. Cherchez le et comptez le nombre de
lettre du nom latin entier de la Camphorée (sans le L. final) =

Longez la côte rocheuse (admirez les vagues au passage
s’il y a du vent) et rendez vous au WP2. De la même manière que pour le WP1, comptez le nombre de lettres du nom latin du

Continuez jusqu’au WP3. Notez
le nombre de lettres de la couleur de la Lavatère arborée =

Vous avez fait alors le tour de l’île. Rendez vous au
WP4. Cette plante est utilisée pour

Continue your walk at the edge of the water. On your right you
perceive the island of Embiez ( the biggest) and the island of
Grand Gaou ( your destination).
In the rear, cross the bridge, you are on small Gaou. In the
headland you can admire a magnificent sight on the sea and the
coast. In case of wind, the impressive waves break on rocks. They
are schists of primary period, ribbed by white quartz. On the coast
exposed of small and Grand Gaou, you can see the work of change of
the salt and the sea on the schist.
Cross then the bridge for Grand Gaou. Opening from 8 am till 8
pm. The island and the lagoon are protected, not to pick
flowers;)
Find the panel of ecological explanation in the zone after the
bridge.
