Geocache Description:

Just off an unpublished trail. One must use Map and Compass skills. Do not attempt the Bear Canyon route as it is very rough. The red and yellow lines indicate a GPS bread crumb track. As of 04.18/2010 a new box has been placed. The old land mine case went missing. The new DECON Box is in the same position

This Geocache is located in the infamous George’s Pass on the western slope of the Watermelon Mountains. George is an intrepid Explorer hiker. He disappeared one day much like Amelia Earhart. One moment there was a weak radio signal … Then he was gone. Later Explorers to this remote area have lost assorted radio equipment and their dignity. Ham radio operators use caution as Murphy is reported to reside in this area. To reach this area one must use trails, published and otherwise. As a favor to the ecosystem do not bushwhack or cut across country. (Especally do not cut over from Bear Canyon) Topography is important, common sense and orienteering are a must. Study your maps and Google earth then pick a traveled path. The cache is in a plastic Decon box. It includes first to find geo coins, whistle and other smaller trade items. Please do not leave food items in thecache it gives the bears heartburn and makes them cranky. 73 WB5TLA aka zydeco9214
