RIO
NABÃO
O rio Nabão nasce em Ansião e, é um afluente da margem direita do
rio Zêzere.
O rio Nabão tem 65 quilómetros, atravessa a cidade de Tomar e,
engrossa o seu caudal no Agroal (uma nascente a 8 quilómetros da
cidade).
Este rio terá tido outras designações, “Nabanus”, “Tamaramá” dos
árabes (que significava doces águas) e “Thomar” nome das águas e da
região envolvente antes do nascimento da povoação
medieval que, ainda se mantinha nos finais do século
XVI.
JARDIM do
MOUCHÃO
Situado no meio do rio Nabão e, no centro da cidade, trata-se de
uma ilhota totalmente ajardinada (desde 1923) com plátanos, faias,
choupos, ulmeiros, etc.
Nela encontra-se a Estalagem de Stª Iria e a Roda do Mouchão,
ex-libris da cidade.
Neste Jardim mantém-se o ambiente do rio, através da elevação das
suas águas pela roda.
É um local de lazer onde pode apreciar a natureza envolvente e, o
som relaxante da água captada pela da Roda do Mouchão.
RODA do
MOUCHÃO
A Roda do Mouchão, descendente dos árabes, é composta por
alcatruzes de barro com capacidade de cinco litros cada.
Diz-se que a capacidade de movimentação de água desta roda é de
750 hectolitros por hora.
A Roda do Mouchão foi construída por decisão camarária no ano de
1976.
Esta roda contém um minucioso trabalho de carpintaria e, é
constituída por madeira de pinho e de carvalho.
A cache não
está na ilhota e mais perto da roda porque, não cumpria a
distância mínima até à cache mais próxima
(161 metros
/ 0.1 milha segundo as
regras do
geocaching).

NABÃO RIVER
The
Nabão River
born in Ansião and it’s an
affluent of the right bank of Zêzere
River.
The Nabão River has 65
kilometres and crosses the Tomar city, thickens it’s water volume
in Agroal (a spring about 8 kilometres from the city).
This river have had other names: "Nabanus", "Tamaramá" from the
Arabs (it means sweet waters) and "Thomar" name of waters and the
involving region before the birth of the medieval settlement, still
remained itself in the ends of
16th
century.
MOUCHÃO GARDEN
Situated in
the middle of Nabão River and in the center of the city, it’s a
gardened islet (since 1923) with lot’s of trees from different
species.
In it there is located Inn of Stª Iria and the
Wheel of
the
Mouchão ex-libris of the
city.
In this Garden the environment of the river is remained through
the elevation of it’s waters by the wheel.
It is a leisure place where we can appreciate the involving nature
and the noise of the waters that is transmitted through the Mouchão
Wheel.
MOUCHÃO WHEEL
The Mouchão Wheel
descendant of the Arabs it’s composed by containers of clay with
capacity of five litters each.
The water movement capability of this wheel is about 750
hectolitres per hour.
The Mouchão
Wheel was built by Tomar Town Hall decision in the year of
1976.
This wheel has a meticulous work of carpentry and it’s made by oak
and pine
wood.
This geocache it isn’t in the islet and nearby
the wheel because didn’t fulfil with the minimum distance to
the nearest cache
(
161 meters
/ 0,1 mile as stated by
geocaching
rules).
