Geocache Description:

An inspiring viewpoint over the River Wye and surrounding countryside on The Wye Valley Walk.

In the late 18th Century The Wye Tour became the first British tourist resort. Artists and poets (forming the Picturesque Movement) and the well off came to visit the natural beauty of the Wye Valley. One of the must see places on the tour was Piercefield Park, which was landscaped by Valentine Morris.
A number of walks and features were created, such as The Grotto, The Alcove, The Platform and The Giant's Cave.

The likes of Wordsworth, Coleridge, Pope, Thackeray and Turner enjoyed the amazing views from the viewing platform before disappearing through the Giant's Cave to write / paint another masterpiece.

You do NOT need a torch to find the cache, but you might want to bring one anyway. The cache is NOT near the cliff edge.
