At the parking coordinates there is a small covered pavilion which will make a great place to sit and summon your courage while waiting for night to fall. You will need a bright flashlight, preferably with a tight beam. When it is sufficiently dark, head down the path to the listed coordinates on the cache page. At this location, you will see a triangle of three white reflectors (firetacks) nearby tacked high to a tree that signifies the start of the trail. The reflectors show up best if you hold the flashlight at eye level. Follow the firetacks to the cache. You're looking for a .50 cal ammo can.
Where you turn off the gravel path, I've place a set of two amber reflectors on top of one another. These are little cubes with reflective surfaces on three sides. I can't promise they will always be visible, or even stay put, but if you see these amber squares, look to make approximately a 90° turn into the woods. Once you're off the gravel path and in the woods, there will just be the white reflectors, so keep your eyes pealed for any twists and turns. I marked the trail back from the cache to the hike/bike path with round orange reflectors. They don't show up as well as the white ones, so I've put them fairly close together. Or you can just follow your GPS tracks back out. Once back on the gravel hike/bike path, you're on your own to get back to the parking area!
If it has rained recently, there will be standing water in the woods (as well as tons of mosquitoes!). If it has rained a lot, be prepared for mostly ankle deep water the last few hundred feet! Total distance from car to cache and back is about a mile, so wear comfortable shoes. The terrain is easy until you go off the gravel path, then it's a pretty good bushwhack for a few hundred feet. I recommend long pants due to all the vines, thorns and possible ticks and chiggers when you go in the woods. I've blazed a decent trail to the cache, but have tried to keep the entry off of the main path a little obscured to passers-by. Try not to attract attention from anyone when you dive off into the woods. Once in the woods, the trail is a little more evident, but it will grow back over in time. Please be careful to close the cache securely once you're done trading and replace the cache container back just as you found it.
