O Teatro Municipal de Almada, inaugurado a 17 de Julho de 2005,
torna mais rica a rede de infra-estruturas culturais do concelho,
projectando ainda mais a tradição cénica de Almada, que todos os
anos recebe o reconhecido Festival Internacional de Teatro, o
Festival Semente e organiza a Mostra de Teatro, para além de uma
vasta programação durante todo o ano.
O novo Teatro Municipal está
preparado para receber espectáculos de ópera, de música clássica,
de jazz, de dança, garante espaços para exposições e café
-concertos e não esquece as crianças, disponibilizando-lhes uma
sala ATL pronta para as envolver em inúmeras brincadeiras, enquanto
os espectáculos decorrem.
Os espaços de encontro multiplicam-se nesta Casa da Cultura, de
grande escala, com rasgadas varandas sobre a cidade e sobre o rio.
Dispõe de 12 camarins com capacidade para 36 actores, um camarim
colectivo para cerca de 20 pessoas, várias salas de trabalho, uma
carpintaria com 200 m2, lavandaria, sala experimental e um pequeno
apartamento para receber o encenador convidado.
Nesta obra municipal Almada passou a
ter uma das mais importantes salas de espectáculos não só a nível
regional , mas também nacional, com a segunda maior boca de palco
do País.
Com a construção desta casa de
cultura de nível internacional, a Câmara Municipal dá um importante
impulso ao desenvolvimento da cultura em Almada, mas também ao
crescimento do Teatro em Portugal.
Com o valor global de 10.600 mil
euros, o Teatro Municipal de Almada constituiu o maior investimento
cultural da autarquia.
Da autoria dos arquitectos Manuel
Graça Dias, Egas José Vieira e Gonçalo Afonso Dias, o projecto do
novo teatro caracteriza-se por ser totalmente "revestido" a azul.A
sala principal destaca-se por ter a segunda maior boca de palco do
país, com cerca de 35 metros de altura, só suplantada pela do
Centro Cultural de Belém.
Os 425 lugares sentados deste espaço – seis reservados para
pessoas com deficiência – deslizam até um fabuloso palco,
apetrechado com um elevador de fosso de orquestra e com um elevador
de palco.
History
The Teatro Municipal de Almada
(Municipal Theater of Almada), inaugurated at 17th July, 2005,
turns the cultural infrastructure of Almada richer, getting beyond
the scenic tradition of Almada, which receives every year the
recognized Theater International Festival, the Festival Semente and
organizes the Theater Show, besides a vast programming during the
full year.
The new
Municipal Theater is prepared to receive opera, classic music, jazz
and dance shows, guarantees places for expositions and
coffee-concerts. Does not forget the children, granting them an ATL
room ready to provide games and pastimes, while the shows elapse.
The meeting spaces are greatly multiplied in this Culture House,
with balconies over the city and the river. It has 12
dressing-rooms with capacity for 36 actors, a collective
dressing-room for about 20 people, several work rooms, a carpentry
with 200 m2, laundry, an experimental room and a small apartment to
receive the invited scene director.
In this
municipal building Almada has not only one of the most important
rooms to regional shows, but also at a national level, with the
second bigger stage-front in the Country.
With the
construction of this house of culture of international level, the
City Council gives an important impulse to the development of the
culture in Almada, but also to the growth of the Theater in
Portugal.
With a
total value of 10.600 thousand euros, the Municipal Theater of
Almada is the biggest cultural investment of the
autarchy.
Created by
the architects Manuel Graça Dias, Egas José Vieira and Gonçalo
Afonso Dias, the project of this new theater is characterized for
being totally covered with blue. The main room is distinguished for
having the second bigger stage-front in the country, with about 35
meters height, only supplanted by the stage in Centro Cultural de
Belém. Its 425 seated places - six for handycap people - are in
front of a spectacular stage, with an orchestra elevator and a
stage elevator.
