minha nona cache (5ª cache tradicional)!
Esta
cache está situada no bairro da Ajuda, junto à bela Igreja da
Memória.
A
Igreja da Nossa Senhora do Livramento e S. José vulgarmente
conhecida por Igreja da Memória, situa-se no extremo sul da
freguesia da Ajuda em Lisboa, foi mandada construir por D. José I
em 1758 em agradecimento a Nossa Senhora do Livramento por o ter
salvo de um atentado de que foi vítima nesse mesmo local, em 3 de
Setembro desse ano.
O atentado de que foi vítima o Rei, teve origem no descontentamento
que se vivia no seio da aristocracia e de certos sectores da
Igreja, foi organizado pelos Távoras e levado a cabo por dois
algozes, há também quem atribua alguma parte da motivação para o
atentado, ao envolvimento amoroso entre D. José e D.Theresa de
Távora e Lorena, irmã do marquês de Távora.
O projecto da igreja é da autoria do cenógrafo italiano Giovanni
Canto Bibiena, construída em estilo neoclássico donde sobressaem
quatro fachadas e a abóboda, no interior destingue-se o altar mor,
a luminosidade, a decoração dos capitéis e o coro. A obra teve
início em 1760 e concluiu-se cerca de trinta anos mais tarde.
No interior da Igreja resalta ainda a urna contendo os restos
mortais do Marquês de Pombal, que foi ministro de D. José e sobre o
qual exerceu grande influência.
Em 22 de Abril de 1985, o zimbório da Igreja foi atingido por um
raio que destruiu completamente o lanternim e abriu numerosas
fendas na cúpula. A recuperação seguiu a traça original, tendo
mesmo vindo a ganhar um diploma de mérito por parte da Europa
Nostra.
A

My
9th cache (the 5th traditional cache)!
This
cache is located in Ajuda's quarter, near the beautiful Igreja da
Memória (Memory Church).
The
church of Nossa Senhora do Livramento e S. José vulgarly known as
Memória (Memory) Church, is placed in the south extremity of the
Ajuda parish in Lisbon, was constructed following D. José I orders,
in 1758, in gratefulness of Nossa Senhora do Livramento (Lady of
the Release) for saving him from a murder attempt of that he was
victim in this exactly local, in 3 of September of that
year.
The
murder attempt of that the King was victim, had origin in the
dissatisfaction of the aristocracy and of certain sectors of the
Church. It was organized by the Távoras and was handled by two
executioners. There are also who attributes some part of the
motivation for the murder attempted to the loving envolvement
between D. José and D.Theresa de Távora and Lorena, the marquis of
Távora sister.
The
church's project author was the Italian theatrical designer
Giovanni Canto Bibiena, constructed in neoclassic with four façades
and dome. In the interior distinguishes the main altar, the
luminosity, the decoration of the columns and the choir. The
workmanship had beginning in 1760 and was concluded about thirty
years later.
In
the interior of the Church there are still the ballot box, that
contains the Marquis of Pombal mortal remains, wich was the prime
minister of D. José and on which exerted great
influence.
In 22
of April of 1985, the Church was struck by a lightning that
destroyed completely its top and opened numerous cracks in the
dome. The recovery followed exactly the original traces, having
come to gain a diploma of merit on the part of the Europe
Nostra.
The
cache is a 35mm film canister.
I ask
you to be carefull to open the cache. To close it please fit the
pencil and the logbook first in the cover.
