Geocache Description:

GOTCHA Challenge - Success

This is the final cache in the GOTCHA Mega-Multi Challenge series.

This cache is not located at the posted coordinates.

To complete the challenge and determine the correct coordinates for this cache, you must find and log all of the caches listed below. Each cache is placed by a different GOTCHA member and will contain a pair of numbers which you must record and save. After you've obtained all of the numbers, seperately add together the two sets of numbers from each of the caches (latitude and longitude) to obtain the coordinates to the final cache location. The two large numbers you calculate will represent coordinates (for example, the posted coordinates listed above for this cache would be represented as the two totals 4021998 and 7655475).

Here are the caches you must find to complete the series:

GC15MAJ   Nocturnal by DocDitto & Lux
GC15XYE   Dead Woman's Delight by Hibernian
GC15ZM5   Cacher’s Guide to Romance by That Fedora Guy, adopted by Maggies Crew
GC164KH   The Search For Truth by Blind Squirrels
GC165X2   Shiremanstown Park Multi by Squeakie, adopted by Leadsinger
GC25W31   Round and Round We Go by odie442
GC166AC   Tree's Elbow by Lasagna
GC166F3   A Rose Between Thorns by Bikeflyboat, adopted by Regal-Lager
GC167DN   24/7 Rumble by Gatoraide
GC168E0   Jedihunter's Cache by Jedihunter
GC168FJ   Rattling Run Trail by Robertsons3
GC168V4   Whaaat!!! That's A ........!! ~3~ by PaHawkeye
GC16AMH   Shifty's Grunge Match by Shifty
GC16B31   Repeat Offender by Kingsting
GC16BF5   Dead Man's Lookout by Devil Duck Duo
GC238R0   Gretna Walkabout by Offcourse1

After you've logged all of the caches above, you should proceed to retrieve the gatekeeper cache listed below. This cache contains numbers just like the others, but in the event one of the other caches becomes archived or is disabled for an extended period, the list of member caches will be modified and the gatekeeper cache will have it's numbers updated to allow you to still solve the challenge. Be sure to verify that the date shown on the gatekeeper cache log sheet matches the one shown below and make sure you only use the numbers from the current list of member caches when making your calculations.

After performing your calculations, you can check your coordinates on Geochecker.com.

The posted coordinates will bring you to a trailhead from which you will begin your trek. There is occasionally some limited parking for one vehicle at this location, but more often than not a local resident has a "no parking" sign posted. While there is no gate here, I do not advise proceeding further up the road. While there is a second parking area located near the State Game Lands gate, erosion has made this road all but impassable even in a 4x4. Additionally, on my last visit to the cache, several large trees had fallen across the road blocking it completely.

Reaching the cache location will be a significant challenge for some. I don't recommend that you bring small children or attempt this after sunset. For those that do persue the cache however, some of geocaching's most favorite activities lie ahead of you (well, at least some of my favorites). A hike, change in elevation, significant bushwhacking, rock hopping, beautiful views, curious discoveries to be made, bragging rights for completing the challenge to be had, and of course, a cache to find!

Choose your path wisely. The longer hike is easier terrain (3.5) while the shorter one is much more difficult (4.5), and those who turn too soon risk not being able to reach the cache safely. Know your limits and come properly prepared with ample water and proper footwear.
