The "Dark Room" Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

The Ax: Unfortunately, it's time to let this one go. Although located in the middle of the preserve, the cache is located on private property. The property owner was aware of the cache and had previously signed the log. As indicated by the last log, the owner has finally decided to develop the vacant property. Thanks to all that found The Dark Room and signed in. Cheers, Ray (The Ax).

Geocache Description:

CTU’s Connecticut office needs you! If you have seen Agent Jack Bauer in action recently in LA, you know that he has his hands full, so he has authorized me to select agents in our area to carry out one of the most important missions known to man. Put on those sunglasses, place two to four rounds of batteries in that GPS and let’s go!

Here is your mission: Several .... no, many Ax travel bugs and coins have “gone dark” (code name for cutting off communications with the outside world), and they need to be found. To help find them, CTU wants you to locate this cache and note at least one of the TB's/coins on this page that is marked "GONE DARK." THESE TRAVEL BUGS AND COINS HAVE BEEN TRANSFERRED TO THIS CACHE BY NAME ONLY. It is your job to report back to CTU if you come across the missing TB/coin that you assigned to yourself. Up for the challenge? Good, I knew you were the right one for the job!

By the way, there could be actual travel bugs and coins in the cache that need to be moved along ..... PLEASE help them too! You can easily identify these trackables on this page because they will not have "Gone Dark" after their names.

Okay, your final instructions before you head out. "The Dark Room" is located in the Honey Hill Preserve in Wilton, Connecticut. The trailhead is located at the end of Wampum Hill Road. There is parking for one car at the trailhead (do not block the neighboring driveway). If this space is occupied, you will need to park at the corner of Honey Hill Road and Wampum Hill Road or at Belknaps' trailhead which is on the east side of Wampum Hill Road just south of Honey Hill Road (park on side of street). I have been to Honey Hill Preserve many times and parking has never been a problem, except when snow has been plowed into the one parking spot.

You are looking for CTU's portable field office which is the size of a regular size container! This part of the assignment should take less than 24 hours in real time. If it does, I recommend you taking a break every hour on the hour! FTF prize is an unactivated CT Geocoin. Good luck!
