Séparant les vallées d’Azun et d’Estaing , le Pic de Pan est idéal pour une première cache ou il faut « mettre les mains » pour gravir l’arrête sommitale (facile)
Difficile d’accès en Hiver (1460m) c’est une superbe balade en inter-saison .
Le départ se fait depuis le col des Bordéres :
parking au N : 42°57.100’ W : 000°11.752
Vous aurez en tout 300m de dénivelée positif pour l’ensemble de la recherche soit 45mn de marche en montée .
Pour les plus courageux vous pouvez aussi partir depuis le village de Marsous ; dans ce cas vous aurez 600m de dénivelée et 1h30 de montée (si vous hésitez entre un chemin ou un sentier prenez toujours celui qui monte le plus )dans ce cas le parking sera aux coordonnées suivantes :

Dans un premier temps, RDV au N :42°57.274’ W :000°11.737 vous ne vous trouverez pas devant la tanière de l’Ours ni une mine de fer, ni une grotte naturelle mais devant une cheminée d’équilibre reliant une galerie hydraulique à l’air libre et destinée à éviter les coups de Bélier provoqués lors de diverses opérations sur les barrages et centrales hydroélectriques très rependus dans cette vallée (barrage de Migouelou, du Tech)une galerie souterraine de 1940m de long passe sous vos pieds et traverse la montagne de Aucun à Estaing.
Dans un second temps comptez le nombre de pierres plantées dans le sol du belvédère naturel qui surplombe l’entrée de la cheminée (carrefour des sentiers) puis calculez les coordonnées de la cache finale :
N :42°57 1 a b avec a = b+3 et b = nombre de pierres du belvédère
Et W : 000°11.329’
Attention : ne rentrez pas dans la cheminée il y a un réel danger : au fond de la veine horizontale une sorte de réservoir profond au bord instable et rempli d’eau : si vous tombez dedans vous ne pourrez plus remonter.
La cache finale est accessible sans aucune prise de risque.

Separating the valleys of Azun and d'Estaing, the Pic de Pan is ideal for a first cache where you need to "put your hands" to reach the top crest (easy).
If the access is difficult in winter (1,460m), it is a superb hike in mid-season.

You will not be in front of the bear’s lair or an iron mine or a natural cave, but before an equilibrium chimney connecting a water gallery to the open air. It was built to prevent the water hammers caused during various operations on the dams and hydroelectric power plants which are very many in this valley (dam Migouelou dam, Tech dam). An underground tunnel 1,940m long passes under your feet and through the mountain from Aucun to Estaing.
Then, count the number of stones planted in the ground of the natural belvedere overlooking the entrance to the chimney (the crossroads of trails) and calculate the coordinates of the final cache:

Warning: do not go into the chimney, there is a real danger: at the bottom of the horizontal vein, there is a kind of deep reservoir whose edge is unstable and filled with water. If you fall, you will not be able to get out of there!
