morning Several of us are meeting at the Wayside Restaurant, at
8:00 Sat morning, before the event.
Anyone who would like to join us for breakfast should let me
know so we can reserve tables. The Wayside is located at approx N
44° 14.161 W 072° 33.260.
WHERE's The Event? Hubbard Park, Montpelier, VT
N 44° 16.235, W 72° 34.705 Pa Yoopers has reserved the shelter at
Hubbard Park. The Park has about a dozen caches in it now and will
have a few more by the event.
Admission to the park is free. There are 2 shelters in the park
the big one was taken so we have use of the smaller/new shelter. It
will be the second shelter as you drive up the hill. Facilities are
outhouses and cold water, no electricity. Dogs are welcome, Owner
must clean after them.
Directions from the roundabout at the end of Main street, When
you come off the roundabout go to the left (NW), That is Spring
St., cross the bridge, then Cross Elm St.(VT 12) and continue on
Spring St to a very narrow road called Parkway Rd. If you see a
sign that says "oncoming traffic" and you say to yourself, "can't
happen" you are on the right road. Start of Parkway---N44 15.915
W72 43.395 Gate---N44 16.045 W72 34.365. Got coords from Topo so
they are approx.
POTLUCK at Noon
We will have a couple gas grills available from 11 am on, we will
bring hotdogs or anyone can use the grill to cook burgers, steaks
or whatever.
Let me know what you can bring so we don’t end up with a bunch of
the same stuff.

Awards will be presented for
- MOST DEVIOUS HIDE OF THE YEAR AWARD
- MOST PROLIFIC CACHER OF THE YEAR AWARD,
- GOLDEN AMMO BOX AWARD (GEOVAGUE ALL STAR CACHER).
- These awards will be voted on by
YOU, the GEOVAGUE community, send your nominations and I
will tally them up. Please email your nominations to me, at

GEO PHOTO CONTEST
Many of you take and post some very interesting photos of your
geocaching adventures. Please submit a couple of your favorites.
Awards will be presented for
- Best Geocache Before Snow Photo
- Best Geocache Snow Photo,
- Photo must be Geocache related. Each
cacher may submit 2 photos, 1 photo without snow (fall foliage,
beachside cache, group hike, or geodog cooling off in a stream,
ect.), and 1 photo with snow (anything with snow, frost covered
trees, snow angels, cacher in a snow bank, mountaintop winter
scene, ect. as long as it is geocache related). Upload your images
to this cache page. I will print them out and judging will be done
at the event.
GAMES and PRIZES.
A fully stocked cache, Several coins, T-shirts, patches, pins and
some trinkets will be given away. Anyone wishing to donate more is
welcome.
We will set an area for a TB swap, and print out some sheets for
the new caches.
