Geocache Description:

The published co-ordinates are for Esher Cricket Club – you will NOT find the cache at this location, although the relevance of cricket will become apparent.

The name of the cache is relevant to its hiding place, but won’t help you in determining the correct co-ordinates. The cache is located at N51 X, W000 Y. Determine the values of A to J using the clues below which will then enable you to determine X and Y.

The information is readily available and the puzzle should not prove too arduous.

A. The highest margin of victory (number of runs) by a side being forced to follow on in a test match?

B. The biggest partnership (number of runs) in a test match.

C. The biggest partnership (number of runs) in a 20/20 match

D. The lowest innings total in an ODI

E. How many 20/20 matches have been tied

F. The most ducks in a single ODI match.

G. The highest aggregate score in an ODI.

H. The highest number of stumpings by a wicket keeper in a test match.

I. The biggest partnership (number of runs) in an ODI.

J. The lowest innings total in a test match.

All of the above questions refer to international cricket among the major test playing nations, and the answers valid as of 4 September 2007. (Obviously, any of the above “records” could conceivably be broken at some time in the future, so check dates carefully to ensure you use data only from matches prior to 4 September 2007).

X = (A*C)-(F*D)-B+E

Y = (G*J)+I+H

You can check your answers for this puzzle on Geochecker.com.

GPS was showing an accuracy of +/- 8 metres when the cache was placed. Good luck.
