Geocache Description:

This cache answers a recent plea by 'Tim & June' for more Ammo Box caches. Their recent visit to the Havant area made them remark on the plethora of micro caches which whilst they have their place, do not compensate for the thrill of finding an ammo box cache. The cache has therefore been placed in a lovely area with wonderful views that you will certainly enjoy as you find your way up to the cache. Nearby is the Chalton Windmill and the Butser Ancient Farm but the cache itself does not require you to leave a footpath to discover it.

On placing, the original cache contained a logbook, pen and assorted bits and bobs, ideally suited to young children. However, we feel the future theme of the cache should become unwanted postcards of places you have visited and bought one too many postcards from!!

NB: Whilst there is a track to the north of the cache that it appears you may be able to use, I would suggest you access the cache from the south and use the designated footpath. Please cover the cache upon leaving GZ.

NB As of 27 April 2013 the ammo box had to be replaced with a smaller box and sadly as of 10th August 2021 the cache size has reduced further due to several instances of it disappearing - but the location is worthy of a walk in itself!

NB: If any cacher knows the owners of the nearby windmill can they contact me - thank you
