Geocache Description:

It is in the Northern part of Sventoji - a nice resort town on the Baltics, close to the Latvian border.

A pagan sanctuary and an astronomic observatory exsisted on top of the Palanga Hillfort (known as Birutes Kalnas) in the 14th century.

Local folk art makers managed to replicate it on one of the highest dunes in Sventoji in June 1998.

Come visit the place, each of the carved wood columns symbolizes pagan gods and form the Samogitian Pagan Sanctuary which also serves an astronomic observatory to determin the main calendar holidays like the Dew Day, Stork Day and others.

The cache is a small transparent plastic box preloaded with a logbook, some pencils, ly2kw wooden nickel for swag, an FTF prize (a wooden nickel too). This is the start cache for a Red Handed Micro geocoin, too.
