The Children’s Hospiltal was built for the money contributed by the family of Armitstead.
In order to remark 150-ty birthday of George Armitstead, the book “Baltic stories” written by his granddaughter Maud Radcliffe, was published in 1997. There are many interesting things in this book about the family of Armitstead as well as about the historical events of Latvia during the beginning of the 20 century.
