Geocache Description:

Fontaine-Daniel, ancien monastère reconverti en filature.
Fontaine-Daniel, old monastery reconverted to a spinning mill

FRANCAIS
========

ENGLISH
=======
The monks built their abbay in 1204 at Fons-Danielis, a marshy and woody place terrain bequeathed by Juhel III de Mayenne.

Faithfull to the community of Cîteaux, those religious men canalize, clear of brushwood, plough and sow... by this way they have delimited Fontaine-Daniel's neighbourhood.

As it's cistercien past gives to Fontaine-Daniel a special charm, that's the french revolution which decided about the actual look. In 1805, Monsieur Horem, come from England, buys the monastery and create the first spinning mill of the department.
