Quarry Hill Park in Rochester, MN
This cache is placed as a replacement and remembrance cache for
tricolor and his
GCC872: Quarry Hill cache.
Here is the description from his listing (which I think still
applies):
A steep but interesting hike up to the old quarry site from
which this park takes its name. Hiking & history abound, so
come prepared for an afternoon out - though the cache find
hopefully wont take that long. Park on the West side near the
playground & picnic area, or on the East side near the Quarry
Hill Nature Center.
Views of the Rochester skyline from these bluffs - especially at
sunset - are some of the best around.
Now, my addition to this cache:
You will find this cache very close to the original cache
location…please be very aware of your surroundings when seeking
this cache…trails are mixed and can be close to the edge at
times…cache is approximately 50ft off the trail, so be aware of
regular park visitors as well. The cache is a 6” x 6”
Lock-n-Lock…hidden in a classic woodland way!!!
Notes on Difficulty & Terrain:
Difficulty: 2-Should be able to find this one without too
much work...your biggest challenge may be signal strenght among the
foilage!!!
Terrain: Depending on your choice of starting
locations...the hill may be a little more then a hill...but the
extensive and twisting trail system may also add to the terrain and
distance you encounter.
