This cache is placed on the road to Snow Camp Lookout.
This cache was placed while my husband and I stayed the weekend out here. I lo not know how many people have actually been up here, but it is spectacular! We rented the lookout for 2 nights, and what a view! The lookout is at 4223 feet in elevation and we could see as far as Cresent City at night! Anyways, the cache is placed on the road up to the Lookout, but not at the top so as not to disturb anyone that might be staying up there. You will be able to see the lookout from the cache site. If the gate is locked, you are still permited to walk up the road making this available at any time of day. The cache is placed at 4134 feet in elevation, and should be fairly easy once you make it this far. It is well stocked, and we want to try to keep survival type gear in it since it is so far out of town.
While up here, enjoy the beauty and devastation of the Biscuit fire. The fire burned up the original Lookout tower, and this one was rebuilt in 2004. PLEASE LOOK AT MAP TO GET TO THIS LOCATION IF YOU ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH THE FOREST SERVICE ROADS UP THERE. SHOULD BE EASY TO FIND WITH A MAP.
