This cache is located at Tamanawas Falls. It is a 2 mile hike with a total elevation change of 600 ft. Cross the bridge and head towards the falls (there are signs pointing the way)
You need a NW Forest Pass or day pass.
When I was a kid my Uncle and Aunt would take all us kids on an annual hike to the falls. On the way up we would stop at 'Coin Rock' to search for hidden treasures in the crevices. We would find as many coins as we could then hide new ones for next years hunt. (Our first geocache)
So, in honor of those early hunts we are placing a cache at the falls. The cords given have a 25 foot accuracy range so you will have to look a little.(Hard to get a good lock in the bowl) Cache is well hidden so if you don't see it at first, look deeper. Please re hide as well or better than you found it. This is a popular spot so there are a ton of Muggles.
I have rated this a 3.5 in terrain because it is 2 miles one way, but this trail is friendly to all ages. There are signs at all the intersections. Also, keep a look out for the missing bridge ;)
This cache is at 3400 feet so the snow will stop you come winter.
There is no bush whacking required so if you are being pointed that way use the hint.
I have included a picture of 'Coin Rock', see if you can find it. It is right on the trail and I hid a hand full of coins. Please replace any you take with new ones so we can keep the tradition going. Thanks!
