Geocache Description:

Cache is by the side of the road with ample obvious parking nearby. A nice simple cache and dash.

This cache is one of a series of micro caches that are placed out within the South Devon and Dartmoor areas on an ongoing basis. The searcher will first have to locate a cut Bench Mark which was cut by the Victorians whilst making the first OS map of Devon back in the 1880's. You will then will have to locate the cache within a short distance of the cut Bench Mark. The cache will only contain a log book so ensure you take a pen / pencil with you to log in. Good luck.

This cache is located within 25p of the cut Bench Mark which can be found at the above co-ordinates. IT IS NOT IN THE FARMER'S FIELD. It is plugged at the base of the largest Quercus you can see within the 25p

This bench mark is shown on the Ordnance survey map of Devon dated 1886 with a spot height of 966.3 feet above the Newlyn datum. It would have been cut a few years prior to this date by the Victorian surveyors
