Geocache Description:

To get into the area needs pass a gate. It is opened in daytimes, in these times the tree and the cache freely accessible.

Csaszlo is located not too far from the hungarian-romanian border station (Csengersima-Petea). This small village on the one hand is famous from a cornel type, of which name originates from the name of the settlement. On the second hand, there is an approximately 400-450 years old cornel bush here, which is said to be the oldest one in Europe.
The height of the cornel approximately 7 meters, the diameter of the trunk is 1.5 metre.
A peculiar greenary marks the tree, it looks like a flat ball, and it is known as the last reminiscent of the garden of an old castle.
The bush is surrounded by market gardens.
It’s worth to have a glimpse to the protestant (calvinist) church, which was built in baroque style.
