Geocache Description:

A small cache hidden along the Trans Canada/ Crow Wing hiking trail. Bring your bike and find the caches in this beautiful stretch of Canada.

"This part of the TCDN Trail is a little-used road allowance onto what locals call “la petite montagne” or “the small mountain”. (When you live on the prairies, small elevations are naturally called mountains!”) This area is on the edge of what was once Lake Agassiz and is the transition between the Red River gumbo soil and the sandier soils of the Canadian Shield."This cache is released to coincide with our Splash event and the June 2nd International Trails Day in Manitoba. The Province of Manitoba is proclaiming the first Saturday in June as International Trails Day!
International Trails Day is celebrated the world over and is dedicated to the development, uses and the healthy lifestyle trails encourage.
There are a multitude of events occurring throughout Winnipeg this year to celebrate International Trails Day. All of the events are FREE and the public is invited to attend any and all of the events – there is something for everyone! see link http://www.mrta.mb.ca/Trails/wta/events.html
This cache was created to add to the number of QUALITY caches hidden in Manitoba. It is an official cache in the MBGA Cache Splash event.
Category 7: Cache hidden at least 500m from a paved road.
