Mengarelliott: I have been in communication with the Director of trails for Butano State Park. He informs me that this trail may never open, and if it does, it will be 2 to 3 years away. It’s time to archive this cache. It makes us sad to archive this very early cache.

Geocache Description:

Oat Bun (an anagram of "Butano") is located along a hiking trail through the redwoods (no bikes). The path isn't hard, but some of the possible routes are steep in places. You'll climb about 1000' from where you park or camp. There is a $10 entrance fee. The cache is partially obscured by a large piece of bark and a bush that has grown up around it. Please replace the bark before you leave the cache. The cache is about a 2-mile hike from the parking spaces at the bottom of Olmo Fire Road.

The cache is in a medium ammo box within ten feet of the trail, so don't go too far into the woods.
