This cache is hidden on the old mountain called
"Tunberget". It's the one of the places where you can find
the remains of an old fortress as well as a lot of water...
-"Why have all this water around, Harry?"
-"To make sure the people of Sollentuna are kept clean and
without a bad smell, Thorvald"
-Should I take that as a complain, Harry? If I smell, I smell
like the cinnamon buns we had in the café this morning! Or
the waffles we had for breakfast even earlier than that. But that's
not a smell one should complain about!
-Relax, Thorvald, it wasn't anything personal. Just a thought.
Let's sit down here, and relax a bit.
-Don't tell me to calm down and relax, I'm as relaxed as I can
be. But wait, isn't that the world famous restaurant, Edsbacka
Krog? And their Bistro across the street? I get hungry even
thinking about those places.
-With our budget, we might find something in the gas station
down there we can afford. Let's just put the sticker where it's
supposed to be and get going. Food, beauty and antiquities. That's
what makes life worth living.
On that high note, we leave Thorvald and Harry for this time and
let them walk down the hill to wherever they decide to continue
their adventures.
The cache contains various stuff you all, including Harry and
Thorvald, will need to stay clean as well as some other bits and
pieces. When adding something to the cache, please prefer things
stolen from hotel bathrooms around the globe to help fellow
Geocachers stay clean.
Now, this is how you find the cache:
- The coordinates above will take you to the entrance. It's
within a kilometer from the Häggvik commuter train
station.
- Walking around the big water tank, you will find a pole with
two labels attached, one says "Jordplåt" and a number, let's
name it Y.Y
- Still walking around, you can enjoy the beautiful view of Kista
Science Tower, the lake Norrviken, the lake Edsviken (you can swim
all the way to the king's castle in Stockholm here), Edsbacka krog
(a restaurant with stars in the guide Michelin), S:t Erik's church,
the Lonely Mountain (another cache site also called
Väsjöbacken) and of course many, many geocaches (that you
don't see, but they're still around).
- On the entrance to the largest building on the site, there's a
sign referring to a law. The sign refers to the law by using two
numbers, XXXX:ZZZ. Remember ZZZ
- Now find a good spot to sit down, take a sip of delicious tea
from your thermos and start calculating as follows:
· The cache is hidden at N 59
26.(676+zzz)
E 17 56. (804 + (10 * Y.Y))
The grounds around the site is filled with litter. Please
bring a trash bag with you and take some of the beer cans, spray
paint cans and other stuff that is spread around this beautiful
site. The view that is, not the building. I have always imagined
re-decorating the building to a large strawberry cake...
Welcome to the top of Sollentuna!
Congratulations to Fridaugusta for the
FTF!
