Sierra Bravo-05-Stone Living Room Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: From the Northern Region Office, New Jersey State Parks Department:

Over a year ago New Jersey enacted a policy that all geocachers must obtain a permit to have their cache on State Park property. We have informed all geocaching host that this is their responsibility and have given them ample time to go about getting their permits. At this time, over a year later, there are still several caches that haven’t complied.

We ask that as the land managers for the attached properties we would like to have these illegal caches removed.

Based on the list provided by the state, I am forced to archive this listing. If you have a permit, get a permit or don't believe your cache is on state park/forest land, please contact me via email. Make sure you include the GC code.

If you don't plan to get a permit, please remove your geocache so it doesn't become geo-trash.

Geocache Description:

A living room near a summit that seats about 18 made out of 300lb rocks. Possibly made by Indians. Good spot to watch the heavens. Uphill climb all the way for about 1/2 mile.

Located in Norvin Green State Park. There are two dirt parking spots, each holding about 5 cars, just south of the 'Welcome to West Milford' sign. Marked trail head is in between the parking spots. Use caution crossing the road as it is on a blind curve with very fast moving traffic. Once you find the cache take a 70 degree magnetic bering for about 100' to the 'Living Room'. I saw some yellow jackets building a nest under the biggest chair (that was probally reserved for the chief). Bring a can of bee spray. Sorry I didn't have my camera but view some pictures and more information at this website: http://www.weirdnj.com/_ancient/stoneliving.html Update 10/9/06- The living room has been rearanged slighly. The cache is in a spot that has overgrown in the past couple years since I placed it. Be careful of snakes! Thanks to Briansnat who donated a new container and card in my absence.
