Geocache Description:

In this DETOUR teams must choose between two tasks, each with its own pros and cons.

In HORSEPOWER your team will travel a distance depending on your current coordinates, and then drive a prescribed route according to a set of typical “Road Rally” instructions. Along the route, you will collect information to use in determining a set of coordinates. This task is rather straightforward, but the total time required will vary depending on your starting point.

In BRAINPOWER your team will be required to solve a series of puzzles in order to determine the coordinates. The puzzles may be completed at any location and the team will then proceed directly to the new coordinates. This task is not as straightforward, but teams who are skillful at solving puzzles quickly may have an advantage.

Be advised, this leg of the race may not be complete when you reach these coordinates.
In fact, the next clue has proven to be a bit tricky to find for several teams.
When you do reach the finish you will find a regular cache.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OHL HOCKEY GUY FOR BEING FTF AND CLAIMING THE TROPHY!!

6. Solve the following logic problem. Note that any resemblance to real-life cachers or events, past or present, is PURELY coincidental.
(I’m just sayin….)

The H-Town Geocaching Society recently held an event where a number of cachers gathered. To start the event, an ice-breaker game was played where each person had to learn a little about cachers whom they did not already know. In addition to a prize for best vocal performance of the evening, a door prize was given to each person who collected information from 5 other cachers. You will be closer to your prize if you can correctly identify the name of each cacher, their age, how many finds they currently have, and their favorite finding technique.
a. The cachers with 674 and 146 caches found are both men. The 63 year old cacher does not have 259 caches. Gary does not like to bushwack to reach his caches.
b. The 16 year old cacher just celebrated 500 caches found. The hiker, who is not 29 years old, found her 245th cache yesterday.
c. The cacher with the most finds is only 10 years old. Diane refuses to use Google Earth to find the cache locations.
d. Kathy is not 42 years old. Gary is younger than the finder of exactly 146 caches. The bicycle rider, Larry, is not 29 years old.
e. Stan does not drive a 4X4 and is not the youngest cacher. Diane holds a current milestone.
f. The cacher with only 146 caches is older than Stan and older than the person who really enjoys bushwhacking.
How many caches does the person who likes to “Google It!” have? Answer: ___ ___ ___ ( S T U )
