Pao-Ma historical trail (Gallop trail) is very close to JiaoXi
train station. (less than 3KM).
The trail was divided into two parts. The south trail is pebble
road while the north trail is stone and wood log step. This is an
ideal trail for MTB. But you should take the south entrance and up
to Sun-Hsing Garden, Then connect to Taipei-Ilan highway up to the
north entrance. So you can swoop down the log step and pebble
trail. You can ride almost all the way up to the high point (about
530m) and start the exciting descent. But the wood log step is not
so easy, only for experienced MTBiker. It took me 1.5 hour to
finish the whole circle by bike (rest not included).
You can visit here by foot, of course. After hiking, if still not
satisfied, you can also pay a visit to Wu-Fong-Chi (five peak flag)
fall nearby.
The cache is a 5x4x3cm plastic box.
