This cache is located in one of Halifax's most well-used, popular
parks for humans and dogs.
The cache is located a short walk from the lower parking lot in
Point Pleasant Park.
Stick to Fort Road until you reach the top!
" Fort Ogilvie was built to guard against an enemy ship passing
through the stream of the harbour and into the Narrows. The battery
was first built in the mid-1790s by the order of General Ogilvie,
then commander of the Halifax garrison."
Great views of the harbour can seen from the fort again, as damage
from Hurricane Juan, can be seen all over. BE VERY CAREFUL around
the fortifications, as they can be very slippery. This site has
been used as the stage of some "Shakespeare by the Sea" plays, as
well!
BE AWARE of muggles, as this spot can be very busy at times!
THE CACHE IS NOT DOWN OVER THE SLOPE and is on the WEST side
of the grass path that goes around the top of the slope!
The cache is a regular sized container which contains the regular
swag, a logbook and pencils.
