Geocache Description:

A CITO work event very similar to last years Delaware CITO event

The co-ordinates are a parking lot on Polly Drummond Hill Road next to Dunkin Donuts. This will be the meeting location and we will than carpool to the work location in White Clay Creek Perserve where there is limited parking and the final farm road is very rough so high groubd clearance 4-wheel drive vehicles would be very helpfull

Schedule: 6/9/07 Saturday
8:30-9:00 Arrive, Meet and Greet, Coffe/Donuts are close by
9:00-noon CITO work party
Noon- 1:00 Optional lunch at McGlynn’s Pub
1:00- ?? Individual or group caching—half a day left for this!

There will be close to three hours of hard work, but then plenty of social and geocaching time.

For the CITO we will be cleaning up an old Fishermans trail not far from White Clay Creek and actually doing substantial trail improvement and re-construction. The area where we will be working will eventually be the extended Charles Bailey Trail that joins the Boundary Line Trail that has two of my caches. Very close by is; GCZX2X and GCZXEN. You can take a break from the hard work and get these caches if you still need them.

For this event I have again enlisted the help of Wendel Cassel of the Friend of White Clay Creek State Park who will be providing trail construction and rebuilding expertise along with all the necessary hand construction tools. Wendel has been the driving force behind the creation and construction of the Boundary line trail and will be a great teacher for our activity.

Nice trails in the White Clay Creek or other areas should not be taken for granted. It takes a lot of hard manual work to build and maintain these trails. This will be your chance to help create trail improvements and learn single track sustainable trail construction techniques and give something back to the White Clay Creek State Park and Preserve.

Be sure to bring plenty of water (you will be worked really hard) and wear old clothes because you will get dirty. A good pair of leather work gloves and sturdy hiking boots would also help.

Please log in if you plan to attend, including if you will stay for lunch and if you are interested in any specific post event geocaching. There are about 30 caches in the Delaware and Pennsylvania section of White Clay Creek State Park.

This is much later than other CITO events to avoid schedule conflicts.
