Fourni is a small hill between the villages Kato Archanes and Ano Archanes. It is one of the most important archeological places in crete. There is located one of the oldest and bigger cemetery of minoan ages. It was operated between 2400 B.C. and 1200 B.C..Unfortunately the last year is closed, but we think it will be open again to the public. Anyway the hill is the best walking place near to Heraklion. It is full of trees, olive trees, oaks, prunes and cretan herbs. The cache is near to the cemetery but we recommend to park at the begin of the road in the forest and then to walk until there.It is about 30 minutes walk with very light walking.You arrive at the parking of the cemetery and you take the path to the right.
