A quick and easy Kids and Family Friendly cache, in Elk River's Camp Cozy Park!

Cache Details

This afternoon while the girls were napping, my 6-yr old boy Ryan and I were trying to shake off the rainy-morning blues. What better way than to hide a new cache or two?

This cache is hidden in Camp Cozy Park, on the west side of Elk River. Like many others, we discovered the park and it's history while searching for kleiner's cache GCCD98, "Camp Cozy". Ryan found the hiding spot, and gave this cache it's name because he liked the walk through the 'forest', and because he knew the park was in Elk River. Granted, it's a small forest, but what can ya do? :) While you're here, be sure to check out kleiner's cache as well...after all, you made it this far!

Location, Parking, and Access

I guarantee that you will find the cache way easier than you will find the park - getting here is 80% of the battle! If you haven't been here before, do NOT auto-route to the cache, and don't trust any of the online maps either...Zebulon and 144th no longer connect, so you'll have to take the long way around to the park entrance.

The suggested route from the East is to turn North onto Upland from Highway 10, at N 45° 18.521 W 093° 35.148. Follow Upland where it turns into Meadowvale, then turn left onto 192nd Ave NW just before the railroad tracks. Turn South onto Waco Street at N 45° 19.190 W 093° 37.708, follow Waco all the way to the end of the pavement, and continue straight down the dirt road to parking at N 45° 18.672 W 093° 37.788. Advanced drivers can also get to the Waco Street waypoint from the West, by taking CR-35 from Highway 15, but I'm assuming most cachers are coming from the East.

You are looking for a .30-cal Ammo Box, hidden in the obvious spot. It starts out with small toys and trinkets, hand-selected by the 'Noles kidlets from their own personal collection, along with a travel bug and a cool National Parks proof coin.
