Geocache Description:

***Please note, if the weather is particularly terrible and no-one is at the above coordinates when you arrive we will be in the Beef and Barge Pub on the Trowbridge Road out of Bradford. The pub opens at midday and has no problem with kids. Food also is served. Coordinates are N51 20.102 W002 14.307. Organiser doesn't have to buy a round so mine's a Guiness***.

If anyone wants my mobile number to check where we are its 07709 796212. Following on from the success of last years Party in the Park this event will once more be held at the Barton Farm Country Park (home of the Tithe Barn) in Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire on Sunday 15th July 2007 (Please note date change). Once more it would help if name badges could be worn with the caching name on as it tends to encourage conversation between groups. It may seem sad but it worked last year!!!

As last year the purpose of the event is for the growing number of cachers in the area to meet each other and put a face to a name so to speak. About 57 teams and over 150 people attended last year making it one of the most attended caching events in the UK. It would be great to make those numbers again and see more faces old and new.
To see the attendance of last year please view our profile and the event cache under caches hidden - some impressive names attended.

Nothing special is planned at the moment although a few local caches may go live nearer the time. We intend to be at the above coordinates from about 11am till about 3pm and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible for a lunch time picnic and chat. Please bring your own food and drink (alcohol is permitted) and chairs/rugs may be a good idea as there are limited benches to sit on.

There are plenty of caches for you to find pre/post event in the local area - as I write there are over 70 hidden within a 5 mile radius so please don't feel you have to stay at the event. If I start to bore you just leave!!! If you haven't done it, a suggested round trip walk of about 3m along the river/canal would take in 4 caches ie. Canoe spot a barge? followed by Avoncliff Aqueduct, then Mr Bean (and gone) and finally Barton Farm Country Park. A particular favourite of mine is The Chapel at 38 which offers great views of the town - Don't forget to chat to Al if you do that one!! Also, our Bradford on Avon cache is a good one to see a few of the sites - and it ends up near the Tithe Barn. I quite like Mr Gs Balls too which is a pleasant river walk.

Parking is available at the Tithe Barn, or the car parks in Bradford town centre which would require a short walk along the river to get to the site. There is also a large car park down Moulton Drive which is only a short walk to the park. The park is suitable for pushchairs and a great place for children to play - swings and playground available. Toilets are available in the nearby station car park.

Nearer the time please keep an eye on the listing as if the weather forecast is terrible the day before an undercover venue will be arranged, perhaps even the Barn itself.

We will bring some of our Geocoins to the event for people to log so please feel free to do the same if you wish.
