Welcome to Historic Felton!
Originally the cross roads of a lumber operation, unincorporated Felton has a small town feel despite being 10 minutes from Santa Cruz. The downtown has gone through many changes and hosted many types of businesses. Film companies have made movies here and politicians visited the redwoods in the nearby grove.
You will find this cache near a converted church that was built in 1863. The cache is...wait! I'm not going to tell you that cause it would make finding it too easy. Consider that you are in a very tidy, well maintained area, with not too many places to hide a regular-sized cache, especially if it is out of sight. The gracious people who let me put this cache here will not like it if you go digging up the landscaping.
The area is accessible at all times. Early mornings, or evenings are also good. Some of the staff knows that the cache is here, but they won’t help you find it, despite their helpful demeanor
This cache is dedicated to 50sumtin..... a guy who is always quick to do the right thing.
As a new cacher, he introduced me to paperless caching, gave me cache containers, answered my html questions and he volunteered his family for me to interview for a class presentation (thanks also to Pink Static!)
For the community, he is quick to intervene and provide solutions when situations have gotten sticky. For these and many other reasons, I thank you, Bud. I hope you are the FTF cause, there’s something in this cache with your name on it!
Other than 50sumtin, FTF gets nooks’ FTF spoon #1, trackable at www.sigitem.com/nooks.
Also, if you find a coin in the cache, please leave a coin. The coin-crazed cachers would appreciate it.
If someone would kindly email me better coordinates, I will happily update what's posted. I guess my little yellow thingy didn't lock well enough
Cheers,
Nooks
