Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden near Springdale. Take exit 211 off the main highway while on route from Moncton to Sussex. Head through the back road that takes you through springdale and then to Fundy Park.

This is a very large ammo can stocked with lots of wonderful gifts for cachers. The log book is in the silver ziplock.

This cache was a prize that I won at the prelude to summer bbq event on May 12/2007, the second event that was held at ponderosa pines campground in Hopewell cape.

The ammo can and it's contents was donated by Sportsman01 and his wife from Fredericton. Thanks for the wonderful donation, and I am happy that I was the lucky winner of such a well stocked and large ammo can. I have found just the spot for this cache.

*******************About the Cache************************

The cache is hidden just off this old backroad, it is a paved road that runs through to Fundy park, a nice scenic drive. The cache is hidden up a path that runs along the small brook in Springdale. This area was quite the booming area many years ago.

Follow the trail to the end of the brook, and you will see a natural phenominon, a very interesting location. The cache is hidden just up the bank from this spring area at the end of the brook. Go up the bank and look for a cache hiding location. Please rehide the cache as well or better than you found it. Use the clue if you need to.

******************About the cache location*****************

This location is in springdale, near sussex penobsquis area.
Drive down the road until you see a small brook, there is a pull off across the street from the McCabes home made ice cream, park here , room for a couple cars or park at the ice cream place as there is alot of room for parking here. Look for a trail up to through the woods that follows the brook. Follow this to the end.

Here you will find the most interesting phenominon that I have seen in a while. The water runs right out of the mountain. I am not sure where the water comes from but it appears to bubble and pour right out of the mountain. I have been told by the locals that this is the best water that you could ever taste. Better than any bought spring water. The locals haul their water from this location to this day as it is the best drinking water in the area. Once the water flows from the mountain it continues it's path down stream and across the road. The water then continues to a fish area on the Sea Farm road. The road does say Private on the road sign however it is worth driving down to have a look. The locals should not mind as no one bothered me while I was there. They are all quite friendly around here.

When you follow the bath out to your car, don't forget to stop and take a look at the old shed along side the brook. The shed was built right in the brook. This shed was built here for when they used to Milk cows. They would milk the cows and sit the water in the shed, then the water would flow over the milk cans, to cool the milk. This area was quite something many years ago and today is a very nice area for quiet streamside cottages.

If you want to see something of complete amazement, go up near the highway where the fishery building is, and stand at the end of their entrance driveway to view the remnants of the old Mystery Crater that used to exist and be an attraction many years back. We are interested in putting a cache at this location however we have to get permission as this land and the old house of mystery crater and buildings are now owned by the fishery people. Watch for any upcoming cache in this area.

********************Mechanic Lake************************

Down the road, closer to the end near Fundy Park there is a road called Mechanic Road, you may want to drive down here to see the Glorious lake, called Mechanic Lake, it is a very nice area with lots of beautiful cottages around it. Take a drive just to see the beauty. You can drive right around the lake. There used to be a cache here called Mechanic lake, I am not sure if it is still active but I am sure it is. There is alot of history in this area. There are also some nearby graveyards, one in which has a cache, maybe you will want to check out this history as well.
**********************************************************

All I can say is this is a very lovely area, so respect the area and have fun.

Please rehide cache better than you found it.

Thanks for doing another one of my caches.
