Geocache Description:

See a nice mural, learn some local history, and take a short hike to a cache and a really neat surprise finish!

Please don't post any pictures or write a description of the final location in your log

as it is a very unique spot and everyone completing this cache should be allowed the "WOW!" moment.

This geocache has 6 waypoints with the sixth and final waypoint being the location of the cache. You will collect information along your way and do some math to complete this journey.

WAYPOINT 1: The first waypoint you will encounter is located at

N 46° 41.071 W 123° 43.873

This starting waypoint is off of U.S. Highway 101 in Raymond. This is a business (one of the oldest) in town. The building is a large white 3-story structure. On one side, there is a large mural. The mural is a depiction of what Raymond looked like back in the boom days of logging. PM me if the date is no longer visible. Visible as if 25.Jun.2020.

Add 1468 to the year shown above the mural (answer = wwww)

WAYPOINT 2: The second waypoint on your journey is at

N 46° 38.681 W 123° 39.757

This waypoint is along Highway 6. The actual grave at the top of the hill is no longer accessible, so you will need to determine W.M. Keil’s birth year from the Washington State Parks informational sign. [UPDATE (25.Jun.2020) - The sign is getting a facelift, so for the interim, W.M. Keil's birth year is 1836. https://www.chinookobserver.com/life/facelift-planned-for-willie-keil-s-grave-state-park-heritage-site-near-menlo/article_55313a2c-7044-11e9-aa9a-43a3134159b1.html]. Take the year of his birth and add 1200 to it (answer = xxxx)

WAYPOINT 3: The third waypoint is located at

N 46° 33.625 W 123° 33.218

This waypoint is also along Highway 6. The coordinates will bring you to a kiosk on the side of the road. You are looking for a large object in a field to the northeast of the kiosk which has the town name on it and a year. The tavern that is nearby…a visit there on Friday or Saturday night can be very interesting.

Take the first three digits of that number and add 3196 to it (answer = yyyy)

WAYPOINT 4: The fourth waypoint is found at

N 46° 33.296 W 123° 31.547

You will find this waypoint by turning left off of Highway 6. There is a cattle crossing and a gate. Don't panic if the gate is closed. This is a public access route. So if it is closed, just close it behind you. You will find a yellow gate that is open. You need the four-digit number located on it.

Subtract that number from 9512 (answer = zzzz)

…you are getting closer! The fifth and sixth waypoints are connected. The fifth is for the trailhead; the sixth is for the cache. This is where you need the numbers you have collected.

WAYPOINT 5: You will find the trailhead (park just before it on the right-hand side) at

N 46° ww.ww1 W 123° xx.xx0

WAYPOINT 6: The sixth and FINAL location is at

N46° yy.yy6 W 123° zz.zz6

Note: The two hints help you find the fourth waypoint, and a hint on the location of the cache.
