Vilstrup Kirke har sin oprindelse i 1200 tallet. Den romanske kirke fremstår i dag med et romansk skib, 4 gotiske tilbygninger, korsarme og tårn.
Tårnet med det karakteristiske løgspir menes at stamme fra restaureringen af tårnet i 1748, ca. 70 år efter at det oprindelige meget højere spir var blevet ødelagt af lynnedslag og brand.
Indvendigt blev kirken restaureret i 1939-40. Orglet og prædikestolen fin andre placeringer, og en ny altertavle blev fremstillet af arbejdsløse billedskærere i København. 5 malerier fra den gamle altertavle blev brugt i den nye.

Vilstrup Church is from 1200. The church appears with a roman nave, 4 gothic extensions, and a tower.
The tower with the characteristic onion dome is said to be a result of e restoration in 1748 about 70 years after the original steeple was destroyed by lightning and fire.
Inside the church was restored during 1939-40. The organ and the pulpit were moved and a new altarpiece was cut by unemployed wood carvers in Copenhagen. 5 paintings from the old altarpiece were used in the new.
