Geocache Description:

The "Erie Shores Wind Farm" is an energy project covering 13,000 acres along a 29 km stretch of farmland in 2 southwestern Ontario counties.

Situated along this stretch of land located along the North shore of Lake Erie are 66 massive wind turbines that can generate enough energy to meet the needs of 30,000 Ontario households. Each turbine is made up of 3 blades weighing about 6,804 kg(15,000 lbs)each and measuring 37 meters(112 feet). A turbine measures 110 meters(360 feet) tall. The parts were delivered to the area on trucks the size of three 18 wheelers.

This is a quick roadside cache that will give you a close up view of these massive windmills. Don't forget your camera!

Cache contains a logbook only, but has room for small trades. Please bring your own pen.

UPDATE: July'07. I have secured the container so it won't fall down into the trunk of the tree. I will have to do some more maintenance before winter, but this will do for now.
