This cache is along a nice , flat, hardpacked trail that runs
adjacent to the river. The terrain rating of "3" is for only the
last 30 feet. The rest of the way is an easy 1.5.
Your starting point can either be from "MCC Marina"; or from the
"Mouth of the Bosque" in Cameron Park. The choice is yours as the
cache is about 1/2 way from each of these points.
This cache is at the bottom of Emmons Cliff. It cannot be done
from the top. (Yes, we checked!) Do not even think about exploring
that route as it would not only be impossible to get to the cache
it could also be very dangerous!
A few warnings:
This trail is on the edge of Cameron Park.
For Safety reasons:
--This is a DAYTIME ONLY cache! NO NIGHT CACHING!!
--Bring a buddy with you! Women especially should not do this cache
alone.
--DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS CACHE FROM EMMONS POINT!
(There are only 2 access points to this cache: MCC Marina or the
"Mouth of the Bosque" in Cameron Park. There are no short
cuts!)
We approaced this one from The "Mouth of the Bosque" point in
Cameron Park. There is great parking here and the trail head starts
right by the parking area. Parking coordinates are listed below on
the bottom of this page in The Selector table.
Please note that this cache is located right off a pretty busy
hiking trail (Twin Bridges Trail) so you'll have to be careful of
muggles too. Please cover the cache up completely so it cannot be
seen from the trail. There is plenty of natural camo right there so
that shouldn't be a problem.
I hope that you will enjoy this cache and this area. It's a
beautiful trail with great views all along the way. You might want
to bring your camera too as there are some great pictures to take
in this area.
One final warning:
There is apparentely ONE rock that might fall on you on the way.
It's such a notorious rock that there is even a sign up along the
trail to warn you about it!
As always, Be careful out there and Have FUN!
