Geocache Description:

Hypothesis:
Difficulty in finding a cache is directly proportional to its size.

Aim:
 To finally resolve the somewhat controversial tenet of Ken's Law.

***NOTE: You can ONLY claim a find if you find the log book/sheet.***

Introduction to the study:
Certain area cachers have the heretical opinion that "Micros" are easier than "Macros." This, of course, is simply an expression of Ken's Law which states that "Difficulty in finding a cache is directly proportional to its size.".

Some researchers contend that Ken's Law is a reckless statement based on no empirical data. Others vehemently state that the Law is patently true, but surround themselves with exceptions. For instance, they will exclude woodland micros and will only consider urban hides as being held by Ken's Law. They will also exclude certain Cache styles associated with various infamous Geocachozoic Eras. We reject such exclusions for this study, but these will be aspects for further studies.

Such is the controversy surrounding this Law that the Vatican repeatedly refuses to comment, and is thought to be the inspirational basis for Miller's "The Crucible" which reportedly had the working title "The Silver Bison Tube".

In this study, we describe an experimental model with general applicability to resolve the somewhat controversial tenet of Ken's Law and produce a vast, reliable data set for future quantitative study.

Methods and Materials:
The equipment used in this study comprises three hides within 10 feet of a central waypoint, that the Experimental Subject is guided to using Global Positioning Satellite technology. The hides are of various sizes, Only one cache is the final, loggable cache. There are two micro and one small decoys within single feet of the final cache, which is big enough to hold multiple trackables.

You can only claim a find if you sign the actual log sheet / book .

If the hypothesis is correct, we predict that the sequence of finds will be micro-micro-small-logbook. Please write down your sequence in your online log. There is room for trades in at least one of the containers.



This is a cache off of one of the maze-like trails in this area. Park at N35deg 55.338 Wdeg 79.04.313, a very popular off road parking space for mountain bikers. Be aware of mud.

Take some time to enjoy the other caches in the area, this area is currently under threat from UNC and their Carolina North project.
