In der Fußgängerzone Drachenfelsstraße in der Altstadt von Königswinter steht eine ehemalige rote britische Telefonzelle. Sie ist eine von drei Telefonzellen, die die englische Partnerstadt Cleethorpes der Stadt Königswinter geschenkt hat. Die anderen beiden befinden sich in den Ortsteilen Ittenbach und Rauschendorf.

Mit der Umgestaltung und Erneuerung der Fußgängerzone hat die Telefonzelle am 5. September 2014 eine neue Funktion erhalten und dient nun als offener Bücherschrank: Jeder kann jetzt hier Bücher tauschen, die er nicht mehr braucht.

Wenige Meter weiter steht am Rathaus ein zu der Telefonzelle passender roter britischer Briefkasten - ebenfalls ein Geschenk aus Cleethorpes.

A former red British telephone box is located in the pedestrian zone Drachenfelsstraße in the old town of Königswinter. It is one of three telephone boxes that the English sister city Cleethorpes donated to the city of Königswinter. The other two are in the districts of Ittenbach and Rauschendorf.

With the redesign and renovation of the pedestrian zone, the phone box received a new function on September 5, 2014 and now serves as a community book exchange: Everyone can now trade books here that are no longer needed.

A few meters further on at the city hall there is a red British post box to go with the telephone booth - also a gift from Cleethorpes.
