Im historischen Ortskern von Lechenich stand lange Zeit auf dem Marktplatz eine große, handbetriebene Wasserpumpe, die gemeinschaftlich genutzt worden ist. Die Pumpe war mit roten Backsteinen ummauert und zu einem Obelisken geformt, auf der einen Seite war der große, geschwungene, eiserne Griff montiert, gegenüber war der Ausfluss in Form eines Tierkopfes.

Die älteste, gefundene Erwähnung der Pumpe stammt aus dem 16. Jahrhundert, im zweiten Weltkrieg wurde sie schließlich zerstört. Im August 1994 wurde sie originalgetreu und am selben Standort wiederaufgebaut. Die Initiative dafür ging vom damals gegründeten Verein "Interessensgemeinschaft Marktplatzgestaltung 1994 e.V." aus und wurde durch Spenden finanziert.
For a long time there was a large, hand-operated water pump on the market square in the historic center of Lechenich, which was used by the community. The pump was walled with red bricks and shaped into an obelisk, on one side the large, curved, iron handle was mounted, on the opposite was the discharge in the shape of an animal head.

The oldest mention of the pump that was found dates back to the 16th century, during the Second World War it was finally destroyed. In August 1994, it has been rebuilt true to original at the same location. The initiative for this came from the then founded association "Interessensgemeinschaft Marktplatzgestaltung 1994 e.V." and was financed by donations.

From the parking lot follow Klosterstraße up north to the marketplace (ca. 300 m). The pump is located on the western end of the marketplace.
