I (howarthe) love finding trackables in caches. So, it has become my habit to launch ten new trackables into the wild each year. In 2009, I launched ten gold
ingots each heading to a different college. In 2010, I launched ten little
turtles to visit each county in Oregon.
In 2011, I am launching ten little unicorns each heading to one of the world’s most romantic cities. My eight-year-old daughter helped me name each of them.
(1) Alice is going to New York, (2)
Bella is going to Monte Carlo, (3)
Elizabeth is going to London (accomplished), (4)
Emma is going to Boston, (5)
Francisca is going to San Francisco, (6)
Hanna is going to Paris, (7)
Lily is going to New Orleans, (8)
Miley is going to Venice (accomplished), (9)
Miranda is going to Melbourne, (10)
Victoria is going to Vienna.
My original travel bug went missing almost immediately. Fourteen months later, I made a proxy, and two days after I activated the proxy, someone found the original! If you are reading this then I am preaching to the choir, but PLEASE log your trackables when you move them. If you don't like to log trackables, then just leave them in the cache. I will be holding on to the proxy and the original can continue her journey!
In September 2012, Alice went to Bora Bora, and then she traveled to the United Kingdom and Switzerland before going missing again.
On January 1, 2013, I transferred ownership to my daughter, now ten years old. In April 2013, she went missing again. Since I have a proxy all ready to go, I am tempted to launch it immediately, but I also know that there is a chance that she will turn up again. Maybe I will wait until December, and launch the proxy on New Years Day.
