A simple social gathering under the full moon at a favourite secret place in the woods.
Saturday, September 18 7:30-9:30 pm or so
As usual, there's no iron-mannish hike as a core part of the event, but a certain amount of walking in the wilderness is required, some of it off-trail, to get here. Come prepared with maps, lighting (in case the moon doesn't work or something), and your usual outdoor and emergency gear. Oh, and bring something to sit on. I'll bring the usual junk food, tools, and trimmings, but please bring your own choice of beverage.
If you'd like company for the hike, there is (currently) one option.
I'll be at the University Gate "UG" at 4:30pm (well before sunset) if anybody would like company for a meandering walk in. Yes, I know it shouldn't take anywhere near 3 hours (!) to walk in. But we're cachers; we like to take the long way. The route? Who knows. We can decide as we go, by request.
The hike is entirely optional, and you're most welcome to, instead, simply proceed directly to the event coords for 7:30.
Moonrise is 7:30, sunset 7:38.
DIY option, with University Gate shown at top right. Note marshes.
For comparison, here's the last time we did this (in spring), before something got in the way.
