Snowbirds love Prescott, Arizona. It is home to some of the most amazing natural beauty to be found in Arizona. Located in an area of the largest stand of ponderosa pines in the world in the Central Mountains gives Prescott a really fresh aroma in the air.

Prescott offers a small town atmosphere that brings peace and tranquillity with all of the amenities of a big city, such as medical care including the highly ranked Yavapai Regional Medical Center hospital and one VA medical facility.

There are schools, colleges, an arts and entertainment scene, musical concerts and art gallery shows year-round, a recently expanded library and a new adult center. There are six golf courses, lodging and accommodations, five lakes, shopping, fine dining, and theatre.

Prescott offers visitors many museums and art galleries devoted to a wide range of subjects including contemporary and historic art of the American West, Native American culture of the Southwest Native American culture, and the architecture and artifacts of early Arizona settlers.

Prescott contains over 600 buildings in the National Register of Historic Places. There are many beautifully restored Victorian-era homes and bungalows. You will enjoy the Historic Walking Tour of Downtown Prescott, Arizona and will love browsing through boutiques and strolling through numerous galleries.

Prescott, Arizona, with a population of 38,500 is known as the "Mile High" city of Arizona. It is the center of the Tri-City region primarily serving Prescott, Prescott Valley, and Chino Valley with a total population of over 100,000.

The mountains above town reach heights of nearly 8,000 feet while downtown Prescott sits at 5,400 feet. Four mild seasons offer just enough variation to make the weather interesting. The enjoyable year-round outdoor weather, diverse landscapes of rock formations, pine forests, majestic mountains and rolling foothills make being here a real pleasure.

The Prescott National Forest is guardian of more than 100,000 acres of wilderness represented by 8 wilderness areas. Of these, Granite Mountain Wilderness is the most popular because it is only 20 minutes from Prescott by paved road. Over 450 miles of recreational trails wind through the Prescott National Forest offering enjoyment for hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders.

Prescott draws snowbirds and visitors from all over the world to enjoy the unique setting, old-west history and enjoyable climate. Prescott is considered one of the top emerging metropolitan cities and was chosen as one of America's five top places to retire!

Prescott is in Central Northern Arizona, 96 miles northwest of Phoenix, 95 miles from the Grand Canyon National Park, 90 miles southwest of Flagstaff, 40 miles from Sedona, 30 miles from Jerome, 20 miles from Camp Verde, and 5 miles from Cottonwood. What a wonderful central location for your snowbird destination.
