Geocache Description:

A geocaching meet within the historic, ancient, only slightly faked Avebury Stone Circle in Wiltshire.  But with Added Geolympix!* It's being held at Ashridge, at the other end of the Ridgeway, on Sunday July 31st 2016.

Where: The Red Lion, High Street, Avebury, Marlborough, Wiltshire, SN8 1RF. Phone: 01672 539266. Parking on site, or in one of Avebury's car parks (helps if you're a National Trust member, as this makes it free). Bring your camera, it's lovely here at sun set.

When: Monday, the 21st of September from 7pm til 9pm or later.

Why: Bringing news of next summer's Geolympix event to the good cachers of Wiltshire. Also, in keeping with a theme of the 2016 Geolympix, this pub is close to an early Geocache: GC1B78 - Avebury Stone Circle (Wilts) a cache by The Wombles, set in September 2001

What: A classic pub cache meet, with optional food and drink, and compulsory hearing about the Geolympix, which is returning in 2016. Keep your caching calendars clear for Sunday July 31st next year, and prepare yourselves mentally for another amazing event!

Who: Cachers from far and wide, with a special warm welcome to those new to caching or cache events. Always popular with Wilts cachers, we're keen to see others from out-of-area too. This isn't (just) a local event for local people...

*A minimum of 12% Geolympix by volume, or 15% Geolympix by weight.
