Geocache Description:

Happy hunting

THE BIRD

The northern crested caracara, local called Warawara, is a bird of prey in the family Falconidae. It was formerly considered conspecific with the southern caracara and the extinct Guadalupe caracara as the "crested caracara". It has also been known as the Audubon's caracara. As with its relatives, the northern caracara was formerly placed in the genus Polyborus. Unlike the Falco falcons in the same family, the caracaras are not fast-flying aerial hunters, but are rather sluggish and often scavengers.

Curacao Geocaching Absolutely Essentials

Water Particularly when the heat picks up, don't take a chance with dehydration. Take along a water bottle or two to keep yourself going.
A pen Although larger caches and some micros will have a pen or pencil, many will not. Pens dry out in the elements. So you really should always bring your own.
Hiking boots Sneakers will do for some urban caches, but most caches on Curacao are located in rougher the terrain. Hiking boots provide superior sole and ankle support and have saved me from cactus needles more then once.
Thorns All plants on the island are 'pika', so wear boots, long trousers and other protection.
Poisonous Plants There are a few on the island so watch out for them.
A Cell phone Or better a smartphone, so you can call for help, use it as a backup-GPS and take some nice pictures.
CITO please do collect and dispose of litter found along the way.
